If you wish to use XenServer with an external storage subsystem that is not listed:

  • The storage must be connected to the server by NFS, by Fibre Channel, or by iSCSI.
  • The storage must be identified by its vendor as compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1.
  • If multipath connection is desired, the Fibre Channel or iSCSI storage must be identified by its vendor as compatible with Device Mapper based Multipath (dm-multipath) in RHEL 5.1.

If these requirements are satisfied, the configuration is eligible for best-effort support. With the assistance of a Citrix SE or Citrix Solution Advisor SE, the XenServer Storage Certification Suite can be run against the configuration, upon which we will certify support and add the storage subsystem to the Hardware Compatibility List.
